Kinross Dental Care

Covid 19 update – WE ARE OPEN AS OF MONDAY 22nd JUNE

Phase 2:
Following the Scottish government’s announcement dental practices in Scotland are able to reopen.

Donald or Angela will be in the practice for face-to-face emergency care. However, we are restricted to see only 10 patients per day and in the treatment available. Some patients requiring urgent dental care may still be referred to the emergency dental hub at Broxden in Perth for treatment.

If you have a Dental emergency please phone the practice on 01577 862273 for advice and to arrange an appointment.

Please don’t attend the practice until you have spoken to us and have an appointment.

We have prepared a short video and information to show you what to expect when you attend.

We really appreciate your patience and support.

Your Visit
As a result of the Covid pandemic we have had to rethink how we treat our patients to ensure that their
safety and that of the dental staff is paramount.
We understand that your future dental visits may
feel different from before, so the following information should hopefully answer many of your questions.
Please be assured though that we will continue to provide dental treatment for you as gently and as carefully as before.

You will not be able to attend the practice if you have any Covid-19 symptoms or are self-isolating under the current government guidelines.

Before your appointment
You will be contacted by a member of the dental team to confirm that you are fit and able to attend the practice for the scheduled appointment. You will be asked to update your medical history – so please have a list of any medications to hand.

On the day of your appointment
Although it will seem a little different it is still the same friendly team in the practice.

These are a few recommendations from the chief dental officer.

  • Please make sure you are well hydrated, have been to the toilet and have brushed your teeth.
  • Avoid bringing unnecessary items to the practice.
  • Please attend the practice as near to the planned time as possible.

If attending by car, please wait in the car and phone to let the receptionist know that you have arrived,
Then stay in the car and we will phone you to come into the practice.

If attending on foot, again let the receptionist know that you have arrived from the front door. She will then open the door to let you in.
Please enter the practice alone. It is best that if possible, you are not accompanied into the building to adhere to social distancing rules as much as we can.
Exceptions to this are: if you are accompanying a child who is the patient: if you are the patient’s carer or comforter.

When you come into the practice please use the hand sanitiser provided and avoid touching things as much as possible.
You will be guided to the surgery by the nurse and treatment carried out as appropriate.

On completion of your treatment you will again be accompanied d to reception by the nurse.

Depending upon the procedure undertaken, you will be asked to pay and make further appointments as usual. Please be aware that the receptionist will be behind a plastic screen, like you may have seen in supermarkets.
If there is a payment please use a card or contactless payment.

Please sanitise your hands again before leaving the practice.

If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to call the practice on 01577 862273 or contact us.
